What does an appointment look like? Each appointment will look a bit different, depending on the person. Some people prefer talking, others prefer walking to let the thoughts roll. Individual sessions work for some while family/relationship sessions work better for others. Initial sessions run for 90 minutes with 55 minute sessions for individuals and 90 minutes for family/relationship sessions. Holistic health is more than talk therapy and Ayurvedic counselling is for people who want to look at their health on a systemic level.

Whats the difference between a Psychologist, Counsellor, Mental Health Peer Worker and Psychotherapist?Psychologists have a degree in Psychological Science, the study of human development and behaviour. They often work within a clinical framework. Psychotherapy is a group of therapies that help you to understand why you feel, think and act in ways that are distressing and affect your life. Psychotherapy aims to help you work towards changing these. Somatic therapy explores how the body expresses deeply painful experiences, applying mind-body healing to aid with trauma recovery Counselling is founded in person-centred talk therapy. The person seeking counsel is considered to be the expert in their own lives and although empirically based practices are used, education is considered a valuable tool. Mental Health Peer Worker (MHPW) is another form of mental health worker, but with a background in lived experience. Often a part of the role is advocating and making changes within organisational policy and procedures to make them more trauma- informed and accessible.
